This seminar focuses on the management and disposition of the trust and restricted estates of deceased allottees and their heirs. The primary concern is the means by which ownership is transferred from the deceased landowner heirs and the accuracy and timeliness of the results. Elements discussed include providing the data to the administrative law judge to allow probate; processing the judicial order including payment of debts and distribution of assets; and providing guidance and help in the preparation of wills. This seminar will discuss the law, including the new American Indian Probate Act of 2004, and the procedures implementing the law. This training is for all real property management staff, and those involved in the development of wills, living trusts, and probating of Indian lands.
