Members must be skilled in the area of politics, resolution of conflicts, and the performance of their duties. They must also have a working knowledge of law and program responsibilities. This course develops roles and defines responsibilities for Tribal boards as well as individual board and council members. Topics include accountability, organizing an effective board/council, decision making, the monitoring function, management systems requirements, roles and responsibilities and policy vs. operation vs. administration.
