roles and responsibilities FOR COUNCIL AND BOARD  MEMBERS
Tuition:     $525.00 in advance, $550.00 if invoiced

The success or failure of the organization depends on the ability of the council, boards, or committees that oversee the organization.  Managing an organization requires that each board or council member be knowledgeable about the organization, be able to provide policy guidance, and be able to establish the management philosophy for the organization.  Members must be skilled in the area of politics, resolution of conflicts, and the performance of their duties. They must also have a working knowledge of law and program responsibilities. This course develops roles and defines responsibilities for Tribal boards as well as individual board and council members. Topics include accountability, organizing an effective board/council, decision making, the monitoring function, management systems requirements, roles and responsibilities and policy vs. operation vs. administration.
