Indian tribes are becoming major employment centers.
This growth has brought increased scrutiny of employee relations within Tribal
organizations. To address this, Tribal organizations must establish fair, swift, and
structured systems to resolve disputes. Each year Tribes, casinos,
non-profit groups, health organizations, housing administrations are collectively
faced
with thousands of employee grievances. Deciding what process to follow,
what forum should hear appeals, and the potential laws that may apply has become
increasingly complex. This program addresses all aspects of employee
disputes including recent court decisions, internal procedures, and establishing
proper grievance policies for your organization. Course contents include
employee rights, establishing a grievance procedure, due process rights,
conducting the hearing, appeals procedures, third party arbitration, wrongful
discharge issues and employment at will policies.
