This seminar is an overview of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) statutory requirements for compliance in the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of projects on Indian Lands. This training covers basic environmental requirements for environmental assessments, environmental impact studies, asbestos mitigation, solid waste disposal, hazardous materials (HAZMAT), wastewater, water and air quality, underground storage tanks, and control and remediation of environmental hazards. Tribal leaders, program managers and environmental/safety personnel need to be aware of the numerous and complex environmental laws to ensure compliance and to prevent liability. This course is structured to provide practical applications to Tribal officials on how to enforce and ensure compliance with EPA laws and regulations.
